We regret we do not have resources available to offer any work experience programs to high school students. We do offer the opportunity for high school students to participate in our school based traineeship program.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary does not offer apprenticeships or traineeships directly. We do not offer traineeships in horticulture, maintenance or wildlife. Limited opportunities for Wildlife Hospital work experience for clinical final year Veterinarian students are available. Please enquire directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
School Based Traineeship Opportunities
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has partnered with Barrington Training Services Queensland to offer three types of school based traineeships within the Barrington’s Excellence Program. These traineeships offer a Certificate 3 qualification within the industry fields of:
- Business Administration
The Excellence Program is open to Year 10 and 11 students who are able to complete the theory required, and attend Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary one day per week for one year, to work on-the-job to learn relevant industry skills. These traineeships are by invitation only, and places within selected departments are limited.

Certificate 3 Captive Animal Management
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary cannot provide work experience required to complete Certificate 3 Captive Animal Management. This opportunity is restricted to selected Wildlife Volunteer program participants.
