Get Hands On
In this breathtaking encounter, get up close and personal with an Australian bird of prey and experience what it’s like to be a raptor handler! Work alongside one of our experienced trainers to learn about the basics of modern and traditional falconry and the techniques used to free fly birds in our Wild Skies Free Flight Bird Show. This will be a hands-on experience as you meet one of our birds for an exclusive interaction and a unique photo opportunity.
Make your way to General Store (Map ref S4) for a 1:15pm start to be led backstage to meet our raptors.
Participants will get to hold a Wedge-tailed eagle with the opportunity to purchase the photo at the end of the encounter.

Terms & Conditions
Children must be over the age of 12 years, guests aged 12-14 years must be accompanied by a paying adult
As you are going into operational areas, no strollers or wheelchair access
Appropriate enclosed footwear must be worn. No high heels
In the event of inclement weather, suitable attire should be worn or purchased from the retail outlets
A person may not physically touch an animal or place any other object or into enclosures, unless invited and supervised by a qualified Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary staff member
The Encounter may be cancelled at any time due to reasons beyond Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary control to ensure the safety of guests and animals. Encounter rescheduling may be available in the case of this
You will be going into areas of the Sanctuary that are not normally accessed by guests, as such you must stay with your keeper and obey all instructions given. Failure to do so may result in the encounter being suspended
For your safety and the safety of our animals, the encounter will be stopped if participants fail to follow any safety instructions
As you are entering a behind the scenes precinct, no personal photography will be allowed
