Child koala holding criteria
It is ultimately at the Koala Handlers discretion on the day if a guest can safely and securely hold a koala unassisted. Some guests may require assistance based on the following criteria :
As a guide, the recommended age is 12 and over with height of a guest to be able to safely and securely hold a koala is 140cm
The size, age, weight and temperament of the koala working on the day is a determining factor to ensure the welfare of both guests and animal
Any other variables as determined by Koala Handler that would compromise the safety of themselves, guest or koala on the day.
Footwear must be worn.
When a Koala Handler determines a guest will require assistance with holding a koala one of two options will be offered:
A Tree photo. Meet and greet your koala. Koala will safely sit in fork of tree prop and guest can stand next to koala and stroke its back for a professional photo
