When is the best time to come to the Sanctuary?
“Everyday” is a great time to come to CWS. We do not get the huge volume crowds like the theme parks. With 27 hectares of lush bushland to walk through you are sure to enjoy your day.

Can I hold a Koala, is it included in the entry price?
Yes, you can hold a koala at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
No, it is not included in the entry price. Koala cuddle & photographs cost $25.00 per photo. A group photo can be taken but only one person can hold the koala.

Is there wheelchair access throughout the Sanctuary?
There is an extensive range of boardwalks and ramps throughout the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Assistance of a carer will be required on some of the steeper walks. Some areas would be considered too steep for wheelchair access and are signed accordingly. We currently do not have wheelchair carriages on our miniature rail system. However if guests can be safely and comfortable transferred into a seat on the train their wheelchair can be travel with them in the storage carriage.
Do you have a platypus?
We do not currently have a platypus on the property.
Where should I take an injured animal?
All injured or orphaned animals should be taken to the Community Wildlife Hospital at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, located on Millers Drive. The hospital operates seven days a week 8.00am-5.00pm.
Animals cannot be taken to the front entrance (Turnstiles). Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary operates under a B Class Zoo Licence, which means that we hold native and exotic species. We are also a quarantine-approved facility, which means that we must adhere to best-practice quarantine procedures.
Wild animals cannot interact with our collection or keepers. Also the injured animal will receive prompt attention if given directly to a vet nurse at the Community Wildlife Hospital.
I am travelling to/from the airport, do you have somewhere I can store my luggage?
We have a secured lock up room where our guests are welcome to leave their luggage free of charge while they are in the sanctuary. On arrival to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, please make your way to the Natures Gift Shop where a staff member will be more than happy to assist with storing your luggage.
Do you accept the Carers/Companion Card?
Yes, we offer guests with the Carers/Card free entry and 50% off for the person with a disability. The card must be presented as ID.
Can I shop in your retail outlets or dine in the Café without paying entry into the Sanctuary?
Yes, Natures Gift and Sanctuary Café are open to the public seven days a week with no entry fee required.
I am a celiac and require a gluten free diet. Does Sanctuary Café offer a gluten free menu?
Sanctuary Cafe offers a range of Gluten Free items and are labelled as such. In particular there is a selection of Gluten Free sandwiches that are prepared daily along with special cakes and slices that are Gluten Free. There are a number of items from the main menu that are able to be made as Gluten Free dishes. Best to ask the server on the day.
