It is a beautiful time of year on the Gold Coast and a time where everyone can open their presents from Santa, and for the Sanctuary we get to open not just presents but open a whole range of new attractions ready for all of our visitors in 2015.
Blinky Bill and all of his friends have arrived at Currumbin with two meet and greet opportunities, two live performances per day of “Wildlife to the Rescue” at the new Green Patch stage right next to our newly renovated Green Patch General Store and an end of day Wildlife Celebration farewell.
Our wonderful Kangaroos have also had their Christmas wish come true with the newly renovated main kangaroo paddock now open. The paddock has undergone a major facelift with the whole area being re-turfed and revegetated and in early January we will turn on the tap for our new stream to be running through this beautiful area.
The last of the major works that has been completed is Blinky Bill’s Home Tree, in the newly renovated and now open air Australia’s Green Cauldron exhibit. This fun and interactive Home Tree is where Blinky Bill lives and you can climb his tree up into his bedroom and for the kids and the kids at heart there is a brand new slide that takes you from the top of the tree down to the second level.
There is so much to see and do at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, and with more improvements and new additions on the cards for 2015 it just keeps getting better, Currumbin is truly More Australian, More Natural, More Fun and we look forward to seeing you soon.
