Wildlife Hospital Foundation Gala Dinner
You are invited to purchase tickets to the 2011 Foundation Gala evening. The evening includes a sumptuous 3 course dinner, drinks, entertainment and auction, animal photo opportunities as well as special guest speaker Gerrard Gosens – blind adventurer, dual Paralympian, motivational speaker, author and competitor on Dancing with the Stars.
Join us to congratulate our golden girl and Currumbin Wildlife Hospital ambassador Sally Pearson who together with her partner Kieren, has graciously agreed to join us at the dinner. Sally has had a world champion year and is back in training on the GC preparing for the all important 2012 London Olympics.
Proceeds of the night go directly to Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation enabling the dedicated veterinary team to continue treating sick and injured wildlife to release back to their local habitats. Spring is the busiest time at the hospital with many new baby wildlife being born and vulnerable to predators, cars and city life. At last count the hospital was treating in excess of 6500 native wildlife a year at a cost in excess of $300,000 annually – unachievable without continued support from generous donors and the community.
The evening will be hosted by Flan from 102.9 Hot Tomato.

Join us this October in celebrating what would have been the 100th birthday of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s founder, Alexander Griffiths! In honour of Alex, a giant birthday cake will be cake in the Lorikeet Arena on 5th October along with the re-launch of the Sanctuary's Miniature Steam Train.
Born in 1911, Dr. Alexander Morris Griffiths was an avid gardener and beekeeper. He founded the Currumbin Bird Sanctuary on his family property in 1947 after he started feeding the local wild lorikeets to distract them from damaging his flowers, an initiative that grew into a major tourist attraction. In 1976, Currumbin Bird Sanctuary became a National Trust of Queensland property.
